Listing Your Home For Sale

Before you list your home for sale there a few things to consider.

Number one is ‘Where am I going to live?” and number two is “Can I purchase a new home with the proceeds of my old one?” I often use the analogy of escrows closing on the same deadlines as a pregnancy; there is an estimated date of closing, but there are WAY too many factors to count on that could potentially delay it. Depending on the complexity of the file, there can be anywhere from 15 to 30 people working on a closing for the person buying your home. If just one party lags behind and or everyone’s timing is not perfect, this can delay the close of escrow date. If you are a seller, chances have it that you are counting on funds to be available so you can move into another home.
